A Prosperous Soul +fgWEEKLY

III John 1:2-4

Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. For I was very glad when brethren came and testified to your truth, that is, how you are walking in truth. I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

The internal condition of our soul, determines the level of prosperity we live in, and even determines the level of health we walk in! From our soul comes our beliefs, thoughts, words, emotions, and ultimately our will (decisions).  To live the abundant (prosperous) life of the kingdom, we must live as covenant men and women. Jesus promises His disciples, in the Sermon on the Mount, that in His kingdom there is no toiling, spinning, worrying, and living in fear about tomorrow. Instead, we are to seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and know that our heavenly Father is going to provide the things we need in the earthly realm, such as, food, drink, shelter, clothing, etc…

Matthew 6:31-33

“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or “What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

As we’ve seen in our previous posts: it is very important that we understand how the covenant functions. Most importantly realizing the power of our words – for good or evil. Our words are either confessing – “saying the same as” – our Lord’s words; or they are denying – “disagreeing with” – His words!  Ultimately it is the things that fill our heart, that are either prospering or corrupting our souls – and thereby determining the very words we speak.

Matthew 12:33-37

“You brood vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Again, it is the condition of the soul (input), that determines what we speak (output). We must guard our heart, treasuring His Word within our very soul, in order to be prosperous and live in good health.  By renewing our minds, we can displace a poverty spirit of lack, weakness, and defeat; by developing a prosperous soul of success, abundance, health,  & triumph! This “process” is called transformation – brought about by the renewing of the mind. When the Word of God begins to fill and be treasured within our hearts, our souls will begin to prosper. With this transformation we will know the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God!

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

James 1:21

Putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

Through the implanted Word of God our souls can be saved (recovered and restored)! I challenge all believers in Christ Jesus, to take responsibility for the condition of your soul:  1. Humble Yourself Through Repentance (be willing to change any area of your thinking, decision making, & speaking that doesn’t align with Jesus’ words)   2.  Abide in the Word (read and mediate on the covenant – keeping His words before your eyes & in your mouth)  3.  Speak the Word (He is the High Priest of your confession)  4. Guard Your Heart With Diligence (guard the eye gates and ear gates to your soul, by taking care what your listen to and what you look upon).

Proverbs 4:23

Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.

We can have a prosperous soul. Everything needed to develop a prosperous soul (life and godliness) has been provided to us through His precious and magnificent promises (II Pet 1:3-4). The Psalmist declared, ‘He restores my soul!’

Humble yourself and take responsibility for the condition of your soul – and God will honor you with prosperity (success) and good health!  Children, who are walking in the truth, bring the Father great joy! Let’s make Daddy smile :-)

Blessings to you!
